Sajith, known to his friends as "Sira" was a brilliant cricketer who represented Dharmaraja College Kandy 1st XI cricket team in 1996. He continued to play cricket for the Dharmaraja College Old Boys Union in the UK. He was a valuable member of the 2019 team that won the Plate trophy. He was also a valuable player at the South Liverpool Cricket Club in the UK.
He passed away peacefully in Cheshire, UK after a brave battle with Covid-19.

It is with our deepest sorrow we inform you of the death of our beloved brother Sajith Denuwara (43) - husband of Niluka Yasamana Denuwara, father of beautiful daughters Nethuli (12) and Senudi (8).
Sajith known to his friends as "Sira" was a brilliant cricketer who represented the school 1st XI cricket team 1996. He belonged to the 93/96 school batch and a popular student during his time.
Since he moved to the UK in 2002, he has been a permanent member of the Rajans OBU UK. Saijith has been involved in many OBU activities and been a regular team player who represented OBU at Festival of Cricket (FOC). In 2019, Sajith was part of the FOC Plate winning team who brought the first ever major cricket achievement in the UK.
He passed away peacefully in Cheshire, UK after a brave battle with Covid-19.
We would like to thank all the OBU members and families who prayed for his recovery. Funeral arrangements are not yet finalised and OBU UK will be organising Buddhist rituals to pay merits to his innocent soul to attain supreme bliss of Nibbana.
