Fundraising by Sylvia Lanka Foundation for Dispatch of Medical Aid Donations to Sri Lanka

Sylvia Lanka Foundation, a registered Sri Lankan charity in the UK has been providing medical aid donated by well-wishers in the UK including the NHS to government hospitals in Sri Lanka. The Foundation has informed that since 2021 it has dispatched twenty 40' containers of medical aid from the UK to Sri Lanka. The medical aid is distributed through the Medical Supplies Division of the Ministry of Health and the charitable organisation Hospital Services Council, located at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, Colombo and headed by Ven Rajawelle Subhuthi Thero. The Foundation has informed that another consignment of medical consumables worth £ 5 million donated by the NHS is ready to be sent to Sri Lanka. This consignment will require at least fifteen 40'containers at the cost of £3,000 per container and the Foundation is at present raising funds for this purpose.
