Part of the Interfaith Network UK during the Interfaith Week, the London Buddhist Vihara organised a session on Interfaith Chantings,Prayers and Blessings on Saturday the 14th November 2020.
Under the strict new Covid 19 national restrictions the meeting was held using the internet Zoom facility. Representatives from various religions joint together to perform a common ceremony of chantings, prayers and blessings for those who had become victims of the Covid 19 pandemic and for the world to be free from this global calamity.
Head of the Vihara and the Chief Sangha Nayaka of Great Britain Most Ven. Bogoda Seelawimala Nayaka Thera welcomed the guests and everyone who joint via the internet. Ven. Thawalama Bandula, Ven. Kalugamuwe Kassapa from London Buddhist Vihara, Dr Harriet Crabtree - Director of Interfaith Network, UK, Revd Father Thomas Couper, St Michael’s and all Angels - Bedford Park, Maulana Sayed Ali Abbas Razawi - Director General and Chief Imam, Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society - Edinburgh, Hindu Prayers by Dr Aloy Ball and Dr. Mrs. Rina Ball, Shevsram and Sangha - Shepherds Bush, Sikh Prayers by Mrs Charanjith and Mr Ajith Sing MBE, Hounslow Friends of Faith, Christian Prayers by Revd Father Hugh Osgood - Free Churches Group, Jain Prayers by PM Samaniji Dr Pratibha Pragya, who is a Jain nun from Harrow, Chanting by The Reverend Gyoro Nagase, Japanese monk, London Peace Pagoda, Battersea and Dr Desmond Bidulph - Chairman of Buddhist Society, London took part via Zoom. Devotional Song by London Buddhist Vihara Dhamma School Children was played.
