BBC Asian Network’s assistant producer Vinuri Perera was named as one of the winners of the Radio Academy’s 30 Under 30 Achievement.
The ReelWorld Radio Academy 30 Under 30 celebrates the UK radio and audio industry’s most promising young professionals.
Vinuri has so far worked for the BBC Radio for seven years across three National Radio Stations, Asian Network, Radio 1 and 1Xtra.
She co-hosted the BBC Asian Network Breakfast Show for the past three years and has recently moved to Radio 1. She was personally selected to launch and re-brand four new shows for the BBC Asian Network; growing them from infancy to now being regarded as flagship shows.
This includes the Breakfast Show, which led to the presenter winning Best Presenter at the 2019 Asian Media Awards.
Vinuri produced the on-air huge build up and reveal of BBC Asian Network Live 2019 – the Station’s biggest annual event, drumming up momentum through a competition and creative editorial moments, which led to it being a sell-out arena event.
She has also produced in entirety and stage managed a live to air comedy night from the BBC Radio Theatre. Last summer, she helped co-produce the BBC Strictly Come Dancing Podcast.
Vinuri, who graduated from the University of Coventry, is the daughter of former Tourist Board head in London Nalin Perera and Manjula Perera.
